A Beginner's Guide To Resistance Bands

Resistance bands are the new workout trend in 2020 for the fitness industry. These bands are made up of rubber (latex) and work best for muscle strengthening, rehabilitation and stretching.  Amid the pandemic, people are looking for affordable equipment that is best for home workouts. Whilst using resistance bands, you don't require any heavy weights. That is the best part about them! In this post you'll be learning about the types of resisitance bands, bands from the best brands and their prices, and workouts with resisitance bands for beginners.  What are the main distinct types of resisitance bands?  1. Loop resisitance bands. Loop resisitance bands make your muscles move harder. The loop bands provide stabilization to the body. Thus, along with muscle strength you also gain balance as well. Especially postural balance.  2. Tube resistance bands (may have handles). The basic resistance bands. These pairs of bands are more efficient than any kinds of heavy weights....

How can you sleep better?

In one of my previous posts, I gave 5 tips and tricks you may follow to wake up earlier than your usual time (click here  to read that post). Here's the thing; to wake up early, it's important to sleep early too.  But maybe you are one of those night owls who likes to watch television late at night whereas you might want to get in bed early at the same time too. That's a little too impossible. But don't worry! You may or may not know this but milk has melatonin in it, a hormone which regulates your s...

Starting your day early | Sassy Teen

Ever thought of going for an early morning jog for which you need to wake up at 5 in the morning? But you end up getting up at 9 (realising that you pressed the snooze button). You cannot deny the fact that you love to snooze your alarm in the mornings. I live to do that too. But after 15 minutes, I realise that I don't have any time to waste and I need to hurry up with my work. However, that doesn't sound right. I prefer waking up early and taking things a bit slower.  But the question is - how can you achieve that? In today's post, I'll give you some tips and tricks that will help you to wake up earlier than usual and start your day on a high note. It'll be hard in the beginning. But when things start working, you'll love these methods.  5 tricks to wake up early!  1. Say NO to drastic changes.  This is the first thing to remember to wake up early. If you normally wake up at 8 in the morning, don't expect yourself to be up in bed at...

A summer day in my life | Sassy Teen

In one of my posts, I gave you a glimpse into my quarantine life. Today, I'll give you a glimpse again, but into a better, outdoorsy life (that's what I love). I thought it would be better to let you guys in on what I have been doing. And here's the thing, my routine isn't very fancy or entertaining. It's just a typical day.                  Click  here   to see what I had been up to in my quarantine lifestyle. So, let's not wait anymore and get started!  Morning Routine  My alarm goes off at 5:45 am. I wake up, drink 2 glasses of water, brush my teeth and start getting ready for tennis. I like to drink a glass of milk before starting my tennis kit preparation. Then I pack my tennis kit (get the water bottles, towels and racquets ready) and leave my house at 6:15 am.   The session begins at 6:30 am and finishes at 8 o'clock. Then I reach home at around 8...

My quarantine bucket list | Sassy Teen

Bored at home? So am I! I have been going for my tennis practices daily and have been doing fitness along with that too, but I'm longing to go to school. But it's hard to even get out of the house. I had planned so much for 9th grade, but when you plan a lot of things to go well, they just turn out to go the other way around. But I've come up with a new strategy for the summer.  Instead of moaning about how the pandemic has changed our lifestyle completely, why not make the most out of your crucial time. That's what I've been thinking about for a long time. So, I made a list of the things that I would like to do this summer. And now, I've decided to share it with you guys. So let's get started with the list.  #1 Improving my tennis game.  With school and hobbies taking lots of my time normally, I can hardly find time to make improvements in my tennis game. But with everything closed down, I have gotten this pe...

6 ways to rejuvenate yourself

Rejuvenation  The other day, I was finding the meaning for rejuvenation  in a dictionary. It said, rejuvenation means 'the process of making (someone or something) look or feel better, younger, or more vital.' True! Before starting, I would like to share a story with all of you. Samantha was walking in the forest when she came upon a guy furiously sawing a tree.  "What are you doing?" Samantha asked.  "I'm sawing down a tree," comes down the sly reply.  "How long have you been at it"? Samantha asked curiously.  "Four hours so far, but I'm really making progress," he says, sweat dripping from his chin.  "Your saw looks pretty dull," Samantha said. "Why don't you take a break and sharpen it?" "I can't, you idiot. I'm too busy sawing." Now, we all know who the real idiot here is, now, don't we? If the guy were to take a 15 minute break to sharpen ...

What I do in a day during lockdown!!

Lifestyle "A daily routine built on good habits and disciplines separates the most successful among us from everyone else". I know that lockdown has been hard on all of us. But we can learn to build on some good habits and a good daily routine to develop and nourish ourselves for the future. In my 4th blog post I bring to you the activities that I do in a day (for the weekdays) during lockdown. My routine is consistent. It is nothing really fancy, but remember, habits form  a character. The short poem below justifies my sentence really well.  Sow a thought, and you reap an act ;   Sow an act, and you reap a habit ; Sow a habit, and you reap a character ;   Sow a character, and you reap a  destiny .  So, set your routine well and follow it. Be disciplined!  1. I wake up at 6:25 am in the morning. I freshen up and start getting ready for my fitness. Then, I collect all my gear, fill up my water bottle ...
